Identity Formation

"The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love, and to be greater then our suffering." - Ben Okri

Many of us are afraid that we won't be accepted for our true selves. We've been rejected, dismissed, and hurt and feel we have had to wear a mask around others in order to protect ourselves. We've gotten so used to playing "roles" that we've forgotten how to be ourselves.

Others have just experienced a time of great change, the loss of a loved, a new job, an empty nest and are embarking on a new frontier within ourselves. We are trying to figure out who it is we are becoming and what our purposes are.

I offer identity and gender-affirming therapy for those trying to figure out how to be their best selves. It was the trans and LGBTQ+ movements that inspired me to earn my counseling degree and to discover my passion for helping people to know who they are and how they want to be in the world.  The act and art of becoming who we are is the most fundamental and vulnerable of the human experiences.

With unconditional positive regard and acceptance, I meet clients exactly where they are and guide them through the process of becoming themselves. There is no greater privilege than witnessing someone coming fully alive in who they are. I look forward to being a part of this journey with you.

I invite you to schedule a complimentary 20-minute consultation to learn more about how I can help.
